Rolando Benito was born in Naples in southern Italy in 1958. His father was a carabinieri in the Italian military police and fought the mafia, but he was killed by La Camorra, the Neapolitan mafia, when Rolando was four years old. His mother had to flee with him and chose Denmark and Aarhus, where she had a Danish married sister living. Here Rolando grew up and followed in his father's footsteps. He started at the Police School in Copenhagen, where he met Irene, whom he later married. They move into Irene's parents' villa in Højbjerg, as the parents want something smaller in the city centre.
Rolando Benito gets a job as a criminal assistant (as it was called at the time before the police reform) at the Police Station in Aarhus, where his colleagues call him Roland. Family and friends call him Rolando, which is his birth name. The job at East Jutland Police throws him into several more and less dangerous investigations, and many things in his life change during the series.
Follow him book by book and take part in the many challenges and nerve-wracking experiences he faces.
Enjoy.
The books can be read independently of each other, but of course - as always in a series - it is an advantage to read them in the right order, as the characters' lives develop from book to book.
The Rolando Benito series is also published in Germany and contract is written about publication in English, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, Polish, Spanish and Italian.
