I was asked if I would write the book for the film “The Angel Maker”, which the film team was then in the process of producing. It premiered in cinemas on June 8, 2023, and was later shown on Netflix.
“The Angel Maker” is a psychological and brutal thriller based on an idea by actress Julie R. Ølgaard, and is about a serial killer. Since I have rarely ventured into writing about a brutal serial killer, I thought it might be exciting to try.
I wrote the book before the film was produced, as the original plan was for it to be released together with the film, so it is written based on a film script and a shooting draft.
It has been an exciting task, since it is usually the other way around that a film is made based on the book.
After a personal battle with psychosis and postpartum depression, police officer Laura is thrown back into the field when a cruel serial killer ravages the local community. Laura specializes in cybercrime and together with her partner Jesper, she must use unconventional methods to quickly apprehend the culprit.
They both become deeply involved in the case, where Laura is confronted with her own dark secret.

SAGA Egmont a publishing house under the parent company Lindhardt & Ringhof – the second largest publishing house in Denmark and digital market leaders - invited me to write a digital crime book series to be published in six episodes - one episode each week - inspired by series on Netflix. I thought that sounded exciting, and it became the series "Brændende skyld" (Burning guilt) which was published in 2016 and "Sanitøren" (The Cleaner) in 2017.
The series has Rolando Benito and journalist Anne Larsen as main characters, but they are not part of the Rolando Benito series. The two digital series have over time been translated and published in 21 languages.
Mason Teilmann is America's answer to Rolando Benito. The series is written for Audible as "Original" in collaboration with SAGA Egmont. The 1st season is called "The Voice from the ground" and has been released digitally in French, Italian, German and English.

Book 1
